Below is a list of Northern Iowa Student Government funding sources for your registered student group
If you have any questions regarding allocations or funding processes, contact the Northern Iowa Student Government Director of Finance at nisg-finance@uni.edu.
Budgetary Funding Application for school year 2026-27 is closed. For additional NISG funding sources, please see the bottom of this page.
We recommend you fill out the Post Event Report once the event is over. Doing this gives us a better idea on whether the event was successful and will provide beneficial information in regards to accepting future funding requests.

Budgetary Fund
- Highest funding allocations
- Applications open in spring for the following school year
- Applications will close February 27th at 5pm.

Non-Allocated Fund
- Applications open throughout the school year until funds are exhausted
- Funds similar items as the Budgetary Application, but with lower allocation amounts

- Funding for food and events

Accessibility Fund
Funding available to accommodate accessibility needs for events.
Intercollegiate Academics Fund
- Funding for academic research presentations and competitions
- Funds must be associated with an academic department
Multicultural Non-Allocated Funding
- Applications open until funds are exhausted
- Must partner or collaborate with at least one of the following: African Union, Asian Student Union, Black Student Union, UNIdos, or UNI Proud
